Military Officers Association of America Cape Canaveral (MOAACC)

Transition & Career Support Program (TCS) *

Mission:  Assist MOAA members and their spouses in their career transition to the civilian workforce, in job search activities and/or in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Vision:  Be recognized as a leader in the implementation of MOAA's Transition and Career Support Program (TCS) for retiring, separating and recently separated officers of the seven uniformed services (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, NOAA, and Public Health), while being “value added” to other government transition services, initiatives and programs.

Overview:  The Cape Canaveral chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) has a modified implementation of the MOAA Transition and Career Support Program that provides transition guidance and assistance to retiring, retired, separating or separated officers of the seven uniformed services in their transition to the civilian world/workforce.

Our local version supports officers in the surrounding areas of Patrick AFB, Cape Canaveral AFS, NOTU, and Kennedy Space Center.  Officers outside of the local area are welcome and encouraged to take part in this support program.

MOAA TCS and MOAACC Transition and Career Support Program members can interact with each other through personal contact and via the MOAA LinkedIn Group.

The local implementation also provides the Service member guidance and support with entrepreneurial endeavors.  This generally includes information on the Business Life Cycle, Business Idea Capture, Idea to Concept formulation, Feasibility of the business idea and concept, business launch, types of businesses, business legal entities, Quality Systems and pointers to entrepreneurial/business startup resources such as the government’s Small Business Administration, government and commercial Veteran organizations, SCORE etc.

The TCS committee is chaired by Captain (fmr) Bob Hanrahan, USAF, who is coordinating the chapter efforts while coordinating efforts with other organizations providing similar and/or related services such as Patrick AFB’s TAP office. Coordination with city, county, state and Federal government agency programs is also being accomplished to ensure there is little or no duplication of effort and to ensure the MOAACC chapter TCS program is truly “value added” to the multitude of services being provided to the transitioning officer.
